Thursday, Nov. 16, through Nov. 26, a big, sleek Mexico Tourism Board bus will be in Detroit, parked outside various downtown locations.
Inside? Warmth, sand, beach chairs, palm trees, luxury spa beds, male and female sunbathers and alluring videos of warm, sunny Mexico, all open to the public. Mexico is heavily promoting itself to American travelers after recovering from hurricanes last year in Cancun and Cozumel.
Thursday, the bus will be outside the Renaissance Center from 8:30-10:30 a.m., at Cadillac Place from 11:30 a.m.-1;30 p.m. and in Greektown from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, it will stop outside the Guardian Building from 8:30-10:30 a.m., the Detroit Institute of Arts 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. and Hart Plaza 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Saturday it stops outside the Detroit Science Center, Eastern Market and the Cultural Center. Sunday, look for it outside the Motown Museum, Campus Martius Park and the Fisher Building.
It also will be downtown all next week (except Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day) at various locations. November cold-weary hockey fans should look for it on Nov. 24 outside Joe Louis Arena before the Red Wings game. Read
